slow wine rosarò

These days Feudi di Guagnano’s Rosarò Negroamaro Rosato Salice Salentino DOP has been awarded with two important accolades by 2022 Slow Wine Guide, edited by Slow Food.

The former is the “Bottiglia Top Wine” that is given to all those wineries expressing an exceptional quality for all the bottles uncorked during the several tastings; the latter is “Top Wine Vino Quotidiano”, that is an award for those wines having an exceptional organoleptic profile and a cost under € 12 at the wine shops.

All the awarded wines will be introduced and tasted during Milano Wine Week (8/9/10 October), that is one of the most prestigious Italian oeno-gastronomic events and during 2021/2022 Slow Wine Tour across Munich, Saint Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Miami and New York.

Rosarò, negroamaro 100%, is one of the most known and awarded wine produced by Feudi di Guagnano. In the past, in fact, it got the following accolades: 2012 harvest: 3rd position at the 2nd National Oenologic Competition “Vini Rosati d’Italia”; 2017 harvest: “The Best Rosè Wine in Italy” at 2018 Autochtona Bozen Festival; 2018 harvest: Mondial du Rosè Argent – Cannes 2019; 2020 harvest: Vinum, “World of Rosè”.

This rosato having an extraordinary brightness has also a coral pink colour. Intriguing on the nose, with pleasant hints of pink grapefruit, strawberry and peach, it has a persistent final, rich in citrus and balsamic hints. It is a wine we like to define “gastronomic rosato” since it is particularly agreeable when paired with food.

On this proposal, we suggest the matching proposed by Franco M. Ricci, president of the Italian Sommelier Foundation,  and published by the newspaper “Il Messaggero”: “overwhelming hints of wild strawberries and juice of pomegranate, cherries and red roses, combined with fragrances of pink pepper and rock salt. […] For the pizza prepared with Senatore Cappelli wheat durum, with small tomatoes, smoked provola and basil”.

To taste and to buy this original rosè, the winery Feudi di Guagnano is open every day, including Saturdays (9-13). It is important to book the visit, giving a call to the number 0832.705422 or by the link www.feudiguagnano.it/le-degustazioni/ and coming with a face mask and the Green Pass. For all those who are not able to reach the winery, Rosarò is sold in the best Italian and foreign wine shops, but also on www.negramando.it
