Carlo, Franco and Gianvito welcome you to Feudi di Guagnano, in the land of Negroamaro, in the heart of Salento.
Wine tasting is a unique and extraordinary experience when it takes place directly in the winemaker’s cellar. Slowly, you discover its nuances, aromas, characteristics and, above all, its story.
Through the different wine experiences we offer, you will discover where Negroamaro, the most important grape variety in Puglia, is born; you will visit the organic vineyard saved from the development of photovoltaic fields; you will trek through the sun-drenched vineyards of Malvasia Nera di Lecce; and we will tell you where the long journey of Nero di Velluto, the most awarded and best-known wine of the Feudi di Guagnano winery, began.
La Marenna
In the farming world, however, Marenna referred to a quick and simple breakfast eaten in the shade of a large tree or inside a “pagghiara” (a traditional rural building made of stone). It consisted of frisa (the ancient bread of sailors) or a slice of durum-wheat bread, cherry tomatoes — including the yellow “pendula” variety in winter — dried vegetables such as courgettes and aubergines, oregano and, on request, salted anchovies and spring onions. Everything was dressed with good olive oil.
At the winery, La Marenna consists of a platter of cheeses, cured meats and baked products.
WHAT THE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES
During the tasting, which takes place in the barrel cellar in Guagnano, you will taste 4 of the winery’s most important wines. The cultivation and winemaking techniques used for Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera, both red and rosé, will be explained. The experience is made even more interesting by anecdotes, stories and curiosities, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s “tappo colmatore”.

Signor Negroamaro

The “Signor Negroamaro” experience includes a tasting of 4 of the winery’s most important wines, paired with traditional Puglian baked products (tarallini, friselle, etc.).

Beviamolo Strano
WHAT THE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES
The “Beviamolo Strano” experience includes a tasting of 4 of the winery’s most important wines paired with La Marenna (a platter of local cured meats and cheeses), to be enjoyed in settings and locations selected together with the customer.
